DUBLIN IRISH FESTIVAL
During the first weekend in August each year, 95,000+ visitors flock to Dublin, Ohio to experience life on the Emerald Isle, without ever traveling across the ocean. Visitors enjoy Irish step-dancing, music on six stages by international and regional Irish musicians, cultural exhibits, genealogy, an Irish marketplace, a "Wee Folk" area, a 5K run, Irish food and spirits and more. Sponsored by the City of Dublin, the Festival has experienced a 700 percent increase in attendance over the past eight years, drawing approximately 95,000 visitors in 2006. The Festival has become one of the nation's premier Irish festivals.
ANNUAL DUBLIN FROG JUMP
In the good old summertime, each June, to be exact, Dublin Kiwanis host this annual array of amphibious athleticism. More than 1,000 young "frog jockeys" participate in several age divisions, with 5,000 spectators cheering on their favorite frog. There are loads of prizes to enhance the competition. It's an old-fashioned slice of Americana that's packed with photo opportunities, human interest and good, clean fun.
ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION
"While you're here, you're Irish!" That's the phrase you'll hear when you visit one of the city's largest one-day events. Wear your green and arrive early for the extensive parade that travels through Historic Dublin, featuring "Skelly" the leprechaun and all things Irish. Then, warm up at the Blarney Bash where you can enjoy live Celtic entertainment and spirits, a Wee-Folk area and more!
DUBLIN ART + MUSIC FESTIVAL
Set upon the streets of Historic Dublin with a scenic back-drop of autumn trees along the Scioto River, the Dublin Arts Council's Arts and Music Festival features fun for all ages during the last weekend of September. The art of more than 70 versatile artists is showcased, as well as a musical potpourri (ranging from chamber music to brass), a variety of fabulous foods, a juried student art exhibition and activities for children
MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
Whether you're a golfer or just a stargazer, the Memorial Tournament offers the opportunity to watch some of the world's finest golfers in action, and the chance to see celebrities like Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, and Paul Azinger. Dublin's award-winning Muirfield Village golf course, designed and owned by Jack Nicklaus, is home to this prestigious PGA event, held each spring.
WILDLIGHTS!
More than a million holiday lights will take your breath away... especially when they're illuminating one of America's most beautiful zoos. Each holiday season, Thanksgiving through New Year's Day, the Columbus Zoo is ablaze with a spectacular display of twinkling lights. Ice skating, a decorated carousel, hot cocoa and a visit from St. Nick make this a must-see. Itís fast becoming a holiday tradition for visitors who return to Dublin each year.
